Hi :o)

This tutorial covers how to save a transparent .gif image in PSP.  This does not cover how to save a transparent animated .gif... that is another tutorial....lol.

First you need to decide what background you are going to save your tag on....if you are going to use it on a specific colored background then use that color to save your image.

If you are saving it to use on a wide variety of light backgrounds then you will want to use a light grey color (not white).  Note: if you are saving the tag or image on a dark background then I would advise you use that color to save your .gif with.

Once you have the image or tube you want to save,

Click on your gif export tool  .

This will open up a box as shown below. Use the settings I have used for each box.

Here is where we need to set the color we want to save our .Gif with... Where it says, Yes, blend with the background color... right click on the color box I have marked with red below.  Change the color to your save color.  I used a light grey color #DDDDDD.  I have found that light grey works well on most light colored backgrounds.

The Download Tab does not need to be changed.  It is for information purposes only.

That's it... your Gif has been saved.  I do want to note, that when saving a gif you may see jagged pixels around your image.  This is normal.  This is the save color your chose to save your transparent image with.  If your image is very small... you may not see them, but all .gif's have them.

The image shown on the left was saved with a light gray color as the save color.... notice on the light cream background you don't see those gray pixels... your image appears transparent.  But when you place the same .gif on a dark background you can see them.  Most people feel they have made a mistake in saving their .gif's because they expect them to be completely transparent... but as you can see, they are not.
